A Premature Burial

2018, 139” x 59” x 32”, Unfired terracotta clay equal to the weight of the artist’s body, gauze, surgical suture, enamel trays and metal

Stringing together pieces of terracotta clay with surgical thread, the artist creates an allusion to a dismembered body. The pieces, that were once part of a single lump of clay equal in weight to Yardena’s body, were repeatedly amputated, wrapped and sutured shut with surgical thread and later reconnected through a dark web dismembered but still together.
