In painting with acrylic and its subsequent attempted erasure with water, the artist creates these works with the help of gravity. 'Anastasis' encapsulates these points of creation and erasure reflecting the artist's abnegation of the self during this process. The eventual change in orientation is a part of a cycle of continuous regeneration, an acceptance of the eternal cycle of life and death and of rebirth and recovery from the ephemeral.
