In Synonym the artist seeks a reversal by turning the body into a metaphorical piece of clay. She takes the various stages of working with clay and applies them to the human form, letting external forces mould, shape, fire and ultimately transcend the body’s physicality into something more. As the body climactically runs its course, it metaphorically becomes the urn covered with the shroud connecting life with death.
